Establish a leading research system in conducting cancer research and translate results into preventive and therapeutic health practices and interventions to unify the research efforts and therapeutic experiences accumulated over 40 years of research work and advanced clinical treatment at the hospital, benefit from distinguished competencies, adopt promising clinical and laboratory research ideas, and develop an integrated research road map for cancer diseases to increase the pace of joint work between research scientists and physicians to implement them.

  • Hospitals, universities, scientific research centers specializing in the field of cancer in the Kingdom, advanced research centers, and global scientific and technical development centers.
  • Physicians, researchers, and employees in health sectors.

Establish the Centre within the General Organization of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh.

Project Justifications:

  • King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre treats about 23% of cases diagnosed with cancer every year that have been referred from all regions of the Kingdom. Also, King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is considered a regional reference in cancer treatment and research.
  • Weak linkage and research coordination between scientists in various disciplines and oncologists at the national level and across one foundation, which misses the opportunity to develop targeted scientific research and translate it into useful treatment and preventive initiatives.

  • The Center will include more than 10 main departments , specialized programs, and advanced research centers equipped with the latest technology.
  • The Center will be staffed by more than 300 scientific researchers , technicians, and administrative researchers.
  • The Center will contribute annually with more than 500 scientific researches and scientific papers published in prestigious scientific journals.
