Bahja Project
Strengthening the emotional and social wellbeing of patients staying in hospital over the Eid holidays by creating a festive atmosphere that eases the difficulty of being away from their families.
Target group:
All inpatients from outside Riyadh and Jeddah — more than 200 people.
Location:
King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (Riyadh – Jeddah).
Financial scope:
SAR 450,000.
Project rationale:
- Supporting patients emotionally so that they respond better to treatment.
- Child patients from outside Riyadh and Jeddah miss the joy and warmth of a family atmosphere, which affects how well they respond to treatment.
Facts and figures:
- 3 events celebrating the holidays (Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and National Day) inside and outside the hospital.
- 300 gift cards for Eid clothing (worth no more than SAR 500 a year per patient, around SAR 250 per Eid).
- Gifts at Eid and on special occasions for all inpatients and their companions.
