MRI T3 Imaging Machine

The project to install a magnetic resonance imaging scanner (MRI 3 Tesla) at King Faisal Specialist Hospital – Madinah aims to strengthen advanced diagnostic capability, particularly in neurological and brain conditions, by producing precise, high-quality images that are hard to achieve with less powerful machines.

The project also includes a structural extension to the infrastructure to house the new scanner and allow for future expansion (such as installing a biplane angiography system). It will also improve service efficiency and reduce waiting times.

The project further improves patient satisfaction and the quality of care, and supports the hospital's ambition to excel in advanced radiology services to the highest international standards.

Project objective:

  • Installing a 3 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging scanner (MRI 3T) to produce precise, high-definition images, particularly for diagnosing neurological and complex conditions.

  • Improving the quality and speed of diagnosis, which supports early detection of disease and improves the chances of effective treatment.

  • Increasing MRI capacity and reducing waiting times for patients.

Project rationale:

  • Improving the accuracy and quality of diagnosis, especially for neurological conditions.

  • Meeting the growing demand for MRI scans.

  • Reducing waiting times and raising patient satisfaction.

  • Keeping pace with technological advances and international standards in medical imaging.

Target group:

4,000 patients a year.

Project outputs:

  • Improving the quality of diagnosis and its accuracy in neurological and complex cases.

  • Speeding up diagnosis and treatment by reducing waiting times.

  • Raising patient satisfaction and improving their experience within the hospital.

  • Supporting future expansion by leaving room for additional medical technology.

  • Delivering positive health and community impact by improving the chances of early diagnosis.

Geographic scope:

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (Madinah).
