Establishing an Infertility Treatment Unit
The project covers the design and construction of a specialist infertility treatment unit equipped with the latest medical technology and equipment. It includes medical consultations, laboratory testing, assisted reproduction techniques (such as IUI, ICSI and IVF), infertility-related surgery, and psychological and social support.
Project rationale and objectives:
Providing complete services under one roof.
Meeting the needs of couples experiencing difficulty conceiving.
Easing the emotional and financial burden on patients.
Providing a supportive treatment environment that respects the patient's privacy and offers the care they need.
Patients in the Madinah region suffer from a shortage of fertility and reproduction centres, and large numbers attending King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Madinah are referred to King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh and Jeddah, enduring the hardship of travel and financial strain. Hence the need for this project, which aims to provide specialist, comprehensive treatment services within the region.
Target group:
Between 800 and 1,000 families a year among the patients of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre.
Project outputs:
Equipment: providing a full range of medical equipment such as ultrasound machines, assisted reproduction laboratories and operating theatres.
Staff training: launching continuous training programmes for the medical teams to ensure high-quality services.
Services and digital administration: building a complete electronic system to run the unit.
Awareness: running awareness campaigns about infertility, its causes and its treatments, with support for patients and their families.
