Collecting and analysing disease-related variables and outcomes among multiple sclerosis patients, to improve our understanding of the disease in our region and our ability to find the right treatment for patients attending the hospital.

Target group:

All multiple sclerosis patients at the neuroimmunology clinics of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre – Riyadh.

Location:

Financial scope:

SAR 30,000.

Project rationale:

  • Multiple sclerosis is the leading cause of neurological disability among young people, and is considered a chronic disease.
  • There is a shortage of demographic data, as well as disease-related data, among other variables.

  • The prevalence of multiple sclerosis in the Kingdom is around 61 cases per 100,000.
